On the waterfront

Ask every Hyderabadi and they will vouch for the fact that the stink emanating from the Hussain Sagar is enough to make a person die of asphyxiation. And last week on October 16, a news clipping proved, what was earlier only a popular perception. An Army rowing coach, who must have spent more than half his life in water, died after drowning “accidentally” in Hussain Sagar. And if we believe the version of the cops — the person concerned didn’t know how to swim — then he must have been the dumbest rowing coach of all time. Water sports without the knowledge of swimming. Yeh Baat Kuch Hajam Nahin Hui.
